Compass Rose is a hospitality development company based in Charleston, SC. Led by James (Jay) A. Ham, Jr., a successful real estate development and construction professional with over 30 years of experience. Jay has partnered with Grae Rambo, founder of Construction Professionals Inc, a leader in the hospitality construction field with a 35-year track record of delivering quality hotels on time and in budget for clients. The collective experience and track record of this team will position the partnership for continued success in all aspects of the hospitality development sector.
Jay Ham
Successful real estate development professional, having spent the last 10 years as a partner in Springbridge Development and Senior Vice-President of Development for RAINES. Prior to this, Jay ran his family’s development and construction business and negotiated its eventual sale to an affiliate company of The Carlyle Group. He has led and managed the development and construction of over $300 million dollars of hospitality and commercial properties, working with leading hotel brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Wyndham, and Choice hotels.
Jay also has extensive knowledge in historical and adaptive reuse projects utilizing state and federal tax credits and has completed resort developments in the Bahamas and Snowshoe, Wva.
Grae Rambo
Founder of Construction Professionals Inc., a leading General contractor in Charleston, SC. He has over 35 years of experience in providing high-quality construction services to private development professionals, specializing in hospitality projects.
Grae is known for his dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, as well as his ability to blend old school construction experience with innovative technology and emerging construction methods.
He has built many valuable relationships and established trust throughout the construction industry, having delivered successful projects for many clients of which over 85% are repeat clients.
